Travis, the main character of this horrifying role playing game, was perfect for the monster fights but the camera angles really did a huge damage on the game's overall sweetness.
Okay, neither the blood-hungry butcher nor the notorious nurse is sweet but fans of gory and bloody games like Silent Hill will never forget to include this crazy game on their list. And those fans include me.
The game starts with truck driver Travis hitting a girl crossing the road past Brahms (cool name) near Silent Hill. Suddenly he stops after he realizing he hit someone. Then, a girl named Alessa shows up and she doesn't even know how to speak! Then she leaves him and a very cool song starts to play until you walk up past the Silent Hill sign. Next stop is the bruning house where you'll have to save a burning Alessa. After that, Travis faints and suddenly he faces the Silent Hill map and tries to find a hospital with a weird name in the crazy ghost town with frustrating unconstructed roads and menacing monsters. (to be continued...I'm so tired)
The idea of Silent Hill was based on a Pennsylvania town called Centralia which was devastated by the ill effects of coal mining. A video documentary by one of its screenwriters was posted on YouTube and the video clearly highlighted the amount of carbon monoxide released in the air through underground fires. This gave birth to the foggy atmosphere while your character hits the road during gameplay. Though authenticity of the inspiration was questioned by some, the video was enough to prove gullibles where did the crazy makers of the game got the idea of the annoying smoky ghost town game.
