Dusit, Crame, and Trainees

Freedom - I felt every syllable of the word just halfway through my on-the-job training. I was wandering in Makati yesterday as I try to find the Dusit Hotel located somewhere in the disturbingly situated malls of Landmark, Glorietta, Park Square, and SM. I knew Dusit's location but if you were dropped off at Dela Rosa street, you would rather get a cab ---- faster, hassle-free, and worry-free. I decided not to yell 'Taxi!' because I wanted to get rid of my defective sense of direction.

I was so relieved when I arrived at the hotel but then I found out the conference was marked 10 a.m. on the events board. I informed my trainor right away but when I got in the conference room and found out they haven't started yet, I told her the situation. The conference was about hypertension with respect to the World's Hypertension Day. Doctors were all over the room and when a certain female doctor came in, looking pretty with her neatly ponytailed hair and high-end suit, I thought being a doctor would be a good idea too.

After the conference, we went to Camp Crame so my trainor could have a place to work up a few articles. She introduced me to Phil. Star's Cecile Suerter Felipe, DZBB's Benjie Liwanag, and other reporters. I want to see others including my two friends assigned in Camp Crame, Niki and Ana but due to their hectic school org's sched they'll continue their training next week. Because of regret, I told stories to my trainor and said I'll choose GMA's Carlo Lorenzo over the ABS-CBN van parked outside. She heard much OJT tales from me and she told me enough about previous trainees who had different problems. From what other reporters told me about some trainees, I can conclude they don't like those who go home early and those who want them to sign the evaluation form after attending only two days. I understand some trainees want to go home early because the training's either stressful or stress-free. There would be times you have lots to do and there would a day when you have nothing to do. I admit to standby and to wait is not really my thing. I want action and I want to do some thing everytime even if it involves answering the phone or logging on different websites (like Hollywood Tuna hehe).

ASK ASK ASK. And there would be a never-ending conversation next and definitely some precious information you'll be great you've uncovered. This was one of my trainor's tips. You're free to ask people and you shouldn't be afraid to. For me, this is one of the things I've learned.
