Letter D's ONLY! (for Photojourn)

Nope, the photos were not yet developed but we brainstormed (impromptu style) about several names of objects or events that start with the letter D:

1) Dorm

2) Desk

3) Drawing

4) Dahon

5) Dozing (earlier we kept on saying drowsing... WT*?!)

6) Dimsum and Dumplings (Chinese...)

7) Doctor (There were lots of them. Very sufficient idea, Sir Javier!)

8) Delivery (He wasn't a delivery boy though... He's the owner of the kiosk selling FIRED sharksfin!!!)

9) Dirty Job (The man pushing a cart containing garbage. I'm thinking of Mike Rowe at that time...)

10) Danger sign (near Dapitan exit)

11) Dapitan gate (Does this need an explanation?)

12) Dirty Ice Cream (Just like the others)

13) Dating (Guess where?! LL)

14) Dominican (Father Miguel de Benavides...We saw a real Dominican priest but he was already entering his car...)

15) Driver (The man doesn't know we're taking a picture)

16) Driveway

17) Door

It was really tiring! Afterwards, I ate a doughnut while Ana munched on Colayco burger...

DONUT!

Gloria Estefan is worth 20 points

My sched for today: 8 a.m. - shoot for Tomcat News Update airing at 1 p.m.

11 a.m. - meeting for Tomcat News Update

3 p.m. - 7 p.m. - Athena Cup

It was a "hectic sched", according to Cooking Master Apa of the Dormies Dormitory. I think it was nothing compared to those of Christine's and Joy's schedule everyday. I admit my schedule for this day is very different among any other days...or that's just what I thought... My day today is jampacked with extra-curricular activities and when I'm in my first year, I told myself that I won't commit myself to more than three extra-curricular activities in school. Well, my ECAs haven't been up to three but still, I want to devote more of my time to my studies. I love to be a part of a upcoming production of Mediartrix but I can't... I regret what I've done to my studies during my high school days... This day was fun though... Something I didn't expect. The Athena Cup turned out a bit nice because of the seniors - Ivan and DJ... It seems like a bonding moment for the five of us with Joyce and Nicole... I'm a bit disappointed because we didn't make it to the top five... I wish I studied more...

Kuya Ivan was really funny. He got the correct answer on one of the Average Round questions where Gloria Estefan's spirit cooperated with us. He thought of "Conga" as the answer for that question I obviously forgot because of Estefan. He really did a great job, along with kuya DJ... Nicole too, and Joyce...

If Aedrianne was there, we could have made it. Anyway, we'll just go back in studying Political Dynamics and writing news articles right now...Plus, research readings for our Thesis, edit our Filipino diary, and do photoshoots in UST.

Good luck to Delfin, he'll compete on Tuesday for the individual category eliminations.

Just The Crap (My 2 Day Vacation)

I have been sick over the weekend since Trillanes "takeover" failure succeeded. What was he thinking? I think the government should enroll him in a Nuclear Physics course so we'll be lucky to know why installing a nuclear powerplant in the country will also be a failure. I just want to comment on Lindsay Lohan's Just My Luck movie... I've watched it at home while I'm on my "vacation", it was as awful as 100% fiction. Tiring as Trillanes... But the "helping hand" of the guy was a very good story... Each should help the other, right? If only they've focused on that...Not on kissing a guy just to take your luck back.

Perv Mondays

Why Perv Mondays are exciting:

1.) There will never be a dull moment unless the AB laptop screws up at least 7 times.

2.) Everyone would be listening to the perv jokes.

3.) You won't need to buy candies because you (or I and a few perv peeps) won't get bored or sleepy. You'll save a few pesos...

4.) You'll smile after a joke... or at least make face if you really think the jokes are corny or super perverted.

5.) You'll gain KNOWLEDGE even though it's pure "kabarberuhan." At least you know you're thinking critically.

6.) The professors' ideas will surprise you. No need for coffee.

7.) Now you know why those kind of men don't have wedding/engagement rings! BEWARE of those type of men.

Am I a perv?!

G2 Explosion

Last night, my mom and I watched Palaban which discussed the Glorietta 2 tradegy. Miriam Quiambao, Malou Mangahas, and Ali Sotto questioned police officer Barias, Trillianes' lawyer, and a UP chemical engineer professor about the intrigues and controversies behind the event. My mom, who was also a chemical engineer, protested a few days about the findings of the investigators. She complained that the explosion was so big, methane gas wasn't the culprit behind it. She added that the foul or unusual smell should have surfaced and detected by people before the incident happened but no one complained about it. She also told us that it is impossible that diesel heated up because, as what the news said, diesel won't cause explosion that big unless it was forced to be heated at 210 degrees celsius. Though she explained that a small spark from any electrical wiring or machinery could trigger or ignite a reaction, the explosion in Glorietta should include not only a bomb-like destruction but also fire. The puzzling thing for me was the CCTV camera shown in the news which indicated the time when the explosion happened. It was exactly 1:30 p.m. when the entrance-exit doors of G2 blasted off. Could the explosion be a terrorist attack? A diversionary tactic? Or a mischievous act of a weirdo? The time may indicate it was staged. It was planned.

For Barias and the rest of the investigators, it could not be because if it is terrorism, there should be a public appearance of the group behind it, maybe another threats coming out for the authorities, and any media-related acts for them to be known. Mangahas doubted it. According to her, the 9-11 attack didn't experience any of those after its tradegy. The US government had to grill the suspected terrorist first before he appeared on TV.

However, the chemical engineer in the show mentioned that the amount of methane gas can be computed to verify the methane gas theory. Barias contended that the gas was locked up in the basement that's why no one smelled it. The basement lacked proper ventilation. Thus, the police blamed it to the Ayala to management for their "industrial failure".

Enter Trillianes, who, according to his lawyer, was the "sumbungan" of the intelligence officers about any child's play that Malacanang would do. The incident was a diversionary tactic of the administration to divert our attention and also the media attention to this tradegy to slow down the corruption-bribery allegations surrounding the government officials and the first family. Obviously, we have so many watchful eyes surrounding the government and we are unstoppable in doing that. Both Malacanang and Trillanes should know that.

Dr. Zhivago

Magazine Practice and Management 101

If you think working for a magazine is glamorous, think again...

Let's Play: Spot a Korean

Nakonfirm kagad nyang Koreano yun (in just a second).

POCHOLO! ---- yan ang tinutukso sa kin nila Nikki...Look at the face:

Nikki talaga o...

Ang Kape (The Coffee)

Haha! Parang wala pa kasing maputing kape (HUWAAT?!) Gatas ang maputi. May maitim ba namang gatas?!

Anyway...Just describe coffee...Adjective, concrete or abstract or whatever...may ibig sabihin yan...Ang kasagutan sa bandang ibaba (para suspense). I-describe nyo muna ha! Wag pasaway... :)

How you describe coffee is how you decribe sex...WOOT!

America's Next Top Model Glam Photos

BROOKE - Looks like she can beat Britney...These days, Brit is suffering from a lot of paparazzi, fans, and even club managers...Brooke can outplay Spears

How about K-Fed? Brooke is close to being K-Fed but she has more brains than he has.

AMANDA - I haven't watched the episode which brought this glam photo of Amanda with Fabio...This is one of the if-a-book-has-this-cover-I-will-definitely-buy-it pictures of ANTM...

MELROSE - I sooo love her...Her features are strong but very model-ly...If she had a nice attitude, she would have won this cycle...

MELROSE as Donald And Melania Trump

After telling the public tha she might be gay... Michelle was given the chance to make her dream come true...

ANCHAL - She looks like one of my cousins, Bianca (woot!) Haha...They're both pretty...Anchal didn't get thumbs up in the first few episodes of ANTM cycle 7... But her confidence level rose when she did an Oprah photoshoot...

How I Met Your Mother

The best sitcom ever, according to one youtube(r)...

Really. Ted. Robin. Marshall. Barney. Allyson Hannigan. And it's not like American Pie...

Year 2030. Ted tells his kids how he met their mother. The adventures and misadventures of this circle of friends keep the ball rolling.

Ted. Cute. Looks squeaky clean after his playboy friend Barney advised him to shave his nasty beard. Loves Robin, the news reporter who doesn't actually like settling down with Ted.

Robin. Pretty. Charming. News reporter-turned-news anchor. Always busy. Ted and his buddies threw 3 parties so Ted would see her and admit his feelings to her. Finally, she was present on the 3rd party.

Marshall. Hannigan's boyfriend/fiance. Law student.

Barney. Likes/prefer women below 30 --- teens not included. Enjoys being a bachelor. Uncle Barney to Ted's children.

Lily. Allyson Hannigan. After hearing her name, the title of a popular sex-related movie comes in mind. Yep, American Pie. A very trusted friend of Ted who loves Marshall.

I hope Robin's THE mother, rumor has it... she's not. But Ted and Robin looks cute together...

Blame it on the Engineering Men (Weatherman)

Finally, I took some time and effort writing here...after 10 years...sa wakas!

I'm eating the good old Clover Chips that boasts a "FREE 20% more" marketing strategy located on top of the label... Yup, 20% more AIR, that's what... And I have Hershey's dark chocolate on my right...

I knew from that instant I passed through the excited geeky Electrical Engineering students that I really have to write all their mischievous deeds on my blog.

I saw them having a picture-taking session near the Quadricentennial fountain, just outside the AB building...As I passed by them, consecutive greetings of "hi" went in the air... Of course, I glanced at them, and then continued walking. All of them were boys and I knew they're Electrical Engineering students because the words at the back of their blue college shirts speak of it.

You might say "just forget it" because they're Engineering students who really has a "nice" and different attitude toward the ladies...But still, it's annoying to some.

I just hate people who try to get attention of someone they didn't even know. I find it rude and disrespectful, especially those who will just go on throwing "Psst" at you. And I know I'm not the only one who hates that kind of attitude.

Discovering Grey's Anatomy

It's 2007 when I discovered Grey's Anatomy. Okay, I'm sooo late!
It was a boring Thursday night when I turned on the TV. I felt like watching some American TV series so I put it on Studio 23. The TV series Grey's Anatomy instantly appeared and two females from the cast were arguing. I was eating my dinner at the same time and after a few moments, I got interested in their argument. Next thing I know, I was watching the whole show!
At first, I thought Grey's Anatomy was as boring and as "cyclical" (containing cycles or patterns of stories; in other words, same old story per episode) as House. But after watching it last night, my friends just got to listen patiently to my unending remarks about the show. Our lunch ended up with them saying, "para kang sirang plaka," "paulit-ulit ka," and "kanina ka pa..."
Try watching it. It's really great! You'll get some lessons about life. Better than reading our Philosophy book or any Philosophy book (if they speed up your sleeping time). Trust me.
****
Sample Grey's Anatomy moment:
Psychic Patient: "I'm psychic."
Cristina Yang: "Yeah, I'm chicken."
