Although the storyline was original, or at least that's what I know now until the day I've found out it's another copycat, Christina Applegate played a bit more exaggerated than what her character should be. Or maybe the character was supposed to be horrifyingly crazy like what she portrayed.
After waking up in an 8-day coma, Samantha faces a retrograde amnesia which will determine the hand of destiny in the entire story. She doesn't remember anything except her general knowledge of sleeping, how to buy medicine, and other impersonal stuff. The poor thing couldn't even remember her boyfriend Todd played by Barry Watson. Yes, poor thing because she couldn't appreciate the good-looking hottie from 7th Heaven. By the way, Watson's short hair in Samantha Who? made him look more handsome, unlike that long wave in What About Brian and 7th Heaven. Sadly, Todd has a new girlfriend, and in the pilot episode aired a while ago on Studio 23, he told Samantha they had broke up a week before she was in a coma. Meanwhile, Samantha realized how bad she was and last thing she wants is to get rid of the old her.
